Saipem wins over USD 1 billion of contracts in China and Brazil
MILAN (Italy) - The Italian company exploration and petroleum engineering Saipem, controlled by ENI, has won contracts in offshore China and Brazil amounting to over one billion dollars (about 675 million euros), "she said Tuesday in a statement.
In China, Husky Oil China Ltd. has awarded Saipem a contract for the installation of two pipelines and the installation of a system of subsea production wells that will connect to a platform on the treatment gas field Liwan 3-1.
This deposit is located in South China Sea to 1,500 meters deep and 300 kilometers south of Hong Kong.
In Brazil, Petrobras has awarded Saipem a contract for the installation of pipes to connect the platforms of treatments to a collector in submarine gas deposits Guara and Lula-Northeast, located at 2100-2200 meters depth of 260 kilometers off the coast of the States of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
This work will be carried out in 2012 and 2013 with the new highly specialized craft of Saipem, Saipem FDS two.
At the Milan Stock Exchange, despite the announcement of these contracts, Saipem yielded 0.91% at 38.11 euros at 1000 GMT in a market down by 0.50%.
